Abstract :
Disaster management is a process in which we should summon all plans, organizations, and control groups to encounter a hard moment and offer the results to managers for decision making based on the current situation. The aim of this research is to estimate the environment of disaster management from the vision of information technology (IT), geospatial information services, and geospatial data management systems. To achieve this goal, four phases of disaster management, namely mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery are discussed. Moreover, the specifications of a constructive information system are mentioned. Also, the needful data to implement a GIS for disaster management is argued. In the end, the results obtained from this study indicated that there is an urgent need for governmental agencies to being in contact more and more in order to employ geospatial information services in managing a disaster as much as possible.
