Solving Fredholm Integral Equations of the First Kind of Convolution Type Using Polynomials

A simple and efficient method is proposed for approximation of the solution of Fredholm integral equation. The method is based on polynomial expansion of given data using polynomial fitting. First kind integral equation of convolution type, can be reduced to a linear upper triangular system which can be directly solved by backward substitution. The method applied to two test problems, computed solutions are compared with exact solutions to show the efficiency of proposed method.
