Ibrāhīm Al-Muwaylihīʹs Mirʹāt Al-‘Ālam Introduction and Translation

This is the first of two articles in which a complete English translation will be offered of Ibrāhīm al-Muwaylihīʹs, Mirāt al-‘Ālam, a work that originally appeared in newspaper article form and was only recently (2007) published for the first time as part of his complete works, edited by the author of this article. This translation of the first four episodes in the narrative is prefaced with a short introduction to the author and the history of the text. The remainder of the episodes will be published in a future volume of Middle Eastern Literatures.
