Surveying the reason and motivation of youth sporting participation and non participation in Isfahan

Background: The aim of this research is surveying about the reason and motivation of youth sporting participation and non participation in their leisure time in Isfahan .Therefore, using a questionnaire Attitude survey of physical and sports activities Kenyon was designed by the researcher. Materials and Methods: Questionnaire is designed by researcher through Kenyon (dynamic & starting activities theories). Questionnaires are given to the 384 youth (30-18 years) in Isfahan city of this number, 368 cases were completed and returned the questionnaires. The face validity of tools is surveyed by group of specialist sports management & physical behaviors & content validity is calculated by using Kendall test which this coefficient is equal to 0.79. The durability coefficient of questions of questionnaires calculated about 0.89 by Cronbach ’s alpha. The manner of sampling is cluster sampling & for analyzing the deductive data must be used dependent T-test and chi-square test in the meaningful level (P ?0/01) was used. Results: According to The findings 76.9 percent of the samples participate in sporting activities that their first reason and motivation are to obtaining hilarity & succulence & the reason of no-participation is related to the lag of daily works & lack of sporting place. Conclusion: The most important factors of motivations of sporting participation are specified by factors such as: obtaining vivacity, decreasing weight, strengthen body & mind and Based on the results of research, factors such as: delaying in their works, lack of sporting place, laziness & impatience caused to non-participation in sports
