On Bounds for Fundamental Units of Real Quadratic Fields Original Research Article

In this paper, we introduce a notion of the bound function. Using this function, we provide several upper bounds for fundamental units and investigate lower bounds for class numbers of real quadratic fields. These results not only generalize known results for the lower estimates for class numbers of real quadratic fields but unify them into a single theory.
