The Kubota Symbol for Sp(2n, Q(i)) Original Research Article

In this paper we show that there is a homomorphism ψ from a congruence subgroup of Sp(2n, Z[i]) to {±1} which generalizes the classical Kubota homomorphism κ: (acbd) → (c/d) where (c/d) is the quadratic residue symbol associated to Q(i).
