Hasse-Davenport Curves, Gauss Sums, and Weight Distributions of Irreducible Cyclic Codes Original Research Article

The weight distribution of irreducible cyclic codes is closely related to the distribution of the number of rational points in a family of Hasse-Davenport curves. Starting from this relation we compute the weight distribution of certain irreducible cyclic codes.
