On the Iwasawa invariants of the Γ-transform of a rational function

Warren Sinnott gave a proof that Iwasawaʹs μ-invariant vanishes for the basic Zp-extension of any abelian number field by computing Γ-transforms of rational functions. We present a new proof of this fact, and also give an upper bound on the corresponding λ-invariant.
