image-motives and modular forms Original Research Article

A image-curve is an elliptic curve E over image which is isogenous to all its Galois conjugates. Serreʹs conjecture implies that image-curves are modular. This means that E is a image-simple factor of J1(N) for some level N. In this paper we will introduce image-motives which are generalizations of image-curves and present basic properties of image-motives. Their properties are proved under some standard conjectures for motives.
