The preparation of 13C-labeled standards of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and other micropollutants: Synthetic and QA/QC considerations

In response to evidence of deuterium exchange phenomena presented by the analytical testing community, a program of synthesis and validation for carbon-13 labeled polycylic aromatic hydrocarbons has been established. Key synthetic and QA/QC considerations in the preparation of these novel non-exchangeable analogs are presented.
