Technical plastics as PCDD/F absorbers

The PCDD/F absorption and desorption behavior of the technically relevant plastics polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl difluoride and polytetrafluoroethylene are described as a function of temperature and the specific surface area. On the basis of the results, concepts are presented for PCDD/F reduction in the exhaust gas of waste incineration plants by using regenerative plastic absorbers.
