Abstract :
Separation of two pairs of isomers, 1,2,3,4,5,7-/ 1,2,3,5,6,8-hexachloronaphthalene(HxCN) and 1,2,4,5,6,8/ 1,2,4,5,7,8-HxCN was achieved using GC column which has stationary phase containing χyclodextrin and β-cyclodextrin, respectively. SB-Smectic column could isolate 1,2,3,4,5,7- and 1,2,4,5,6,8-HxCN, however, 1,2,3,5,6,8- and 1,2,4,5,7,8-HxCN overlapped instead.These columns enabled it to quantify eight individual hexachloronaphthalene isomers among ten.1,2,4,5,6,8-HxCN was the most abundant HxCN in Halowax 1014.The strongly bioaccumulating 1,2,3,4,6,7- and 1,2,3,5,6,7-isomers were not resolved on these stationary phases.
