Behavior and fate of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate in different soils

To investigate the behavior of surfactants in soil ecosystems, the sorption of linear alkylbenzenesulfonate on soils from three different areas of Northern Greece and with different organic matter content was studied. LAS sorption on these soils decreased with increasing pH and correlated positively with the organic matter content of the soils.
