Japanʹs engagement in health, environmental and societal aspects of nanotechnology

Japan has funded around 800 million US dollars every year since FY 2002 for nanotechnology research and development. In this note from the field, an overview is given of Japanʹs institutional structure, activities and programs dedicated to the investigation of the environmental and societal aspects of nanotechnology.
