Existence and Uniqueness of BV Solutions for a Conservation Law withσ-Finite Borel Measures as Initial Conditions

The aim of this paper is to discuss the existence and uniqueness of the Cauchy problem for a conservation law of the form withσ-finite Borel measures as initial conditions. In particular, we also obtain a non-existence theorem which implies that our results are optimal.
