Abstract
A simulation of the thermally driven flow field prevailing over Attiki peninsula in Greece was made, by using the DEMOKRITOS Transport Code System applicable to terrains of high complexity. Two particular days included in the MEDCAPHOT experimental campaign over Attiki, i.e. 14 and 15 September 1994, dominated by mesoscale flow systems and characterised by high pollution levels, were simulated. The model reproduced reasonably the main features of the local wind systems, as well as their interaction, exhibiting a satisfactory agreement with the observations.
