Abstract :
The communication covers various aspects of the surface ozone–monitoring project, which was carried over a period of years in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. Using the passive samplers (candle method)—indigo impregnated paper and exposing for 7-day duration, the ambient ozone levels were monitored, which is calibrated by KI method. The surface ozone concentration was monitored at 14 sites situated at different altitudes in Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. Seasonal trends were observed. Marginal variations were observed between the years (1991 and 1993) at any sampling station. Mean ozone levels at various sites varied between (33 and 48) ppbv. The observed seasonal trends in ozone levels were discussed.
