Abstract
The standard metablic rates of Chamaeleo calyptratus, were measured at different temperatures from 20 to 35°C, using constant pressure manometric respirometers. Standard metabolic rate is mass-dependent. The intraspecific exponents of body mass in relation to metabolic rate at different temperatures in this species are lower than those published for interspecific comparisons. Standard metabolic rate increases as temperature increases with low thermal sensitivity (Q10) between 30 and 35°C.
