Abstract :
Establishing a natural protected area is one of the means of maintaining the biological diversity in an ecosystem, as the components of a healthy ecosystem can be maintained and conserved. Protecting the living organisms will be the end result in most cases of such conservatory acts. In Kuwait, the Jahra sanctuary is one of the natural shelters for numerous birds. In the reserve, appropriat micro-climates and habitats are available for breeding, feeding and other biological functions. This paper presents the different kinds of birds (i.e. resident, visiting & threatened with extinction) that were recorded in the Jahra sanctuary between 1995 and 1998.
