The effect of hydrogen on acidogenic glucose cleavage

A concept of the effect of hydrogen on the anaerobic fermentation of glucose is suggested to explain some controversy in experimental observations. Departing from the biochemistry of glucose cleavage, a simple model is built. It predicts both the inhibition effect of small amounts of hydrogen and the possibility of glucose cleavage even in the medium saturated by hydrogen gas.
