Abstract
There is accumulating evidence that aberrant transcriptional regulation is involved in neurodegenerative disorders associated with expanded polyglutamines. Recent work on the coactivator CREB-binding protein suggests that transcription factors containing a normal polyglutamine stretch might be redistributed to nuclear inclusions and cytoplasmic aggregates, resulting in cellular toxicity.
