Abstract :
The fungivorous heterostigmatic mites of the family Microdispidae inhabit soil,
litter, fungi substrates and decaying plant materials, and some have phoretic
associations with arthropods, specially insects (Kaliszewski et al. 1995; Walter et al.
2009). Based on Khaustov (2008), this family is a member of the superfamily
Pygmephoroidea, however, Walter et al. (2009) classified the family in the
superfamily Scutacaroidea. Microdispid mites consist of about 17 genera and 109
species (Zhang et al. 2011) among which genus Premicrodispus Cross, 1965 is one
of the largest ones. The genus Premicrodispus is usually soil-dwelling and has a
worldwide distribution (Khaustov 2006).
