Abstract :
ABSTRACT: In thisresearchdue to the population increasing and vehicle increasing, thelead contamination in the soils was studied around the exit highways in Ahwaz.For this purpose, four traffic highway choice and were sampled from0-5 and 50-70 cm depths up to 15 meters away from the edge of the highway.Results showed that heavy metal concentration decreases with distance from the highway and lead in surface soil is more than the depth soil.The highest of total Pbis in the Ayatollah Behbahani highway and the lowest one is in theKyanshahr highway.The results also showes that the least amount of lead is inthe middle of highways.The average concentration of the total lead is 25/1 mg/kg with minimum of 14/5 mg/kg and maximum of 40/5 mg/kg.This research shows that the lead pollution in the soil of Ahwaz highwaysis lower from countries like America, Poland and Australia.
