Novel indolocarbazole protein kinase c inhibitors with improved biochemical and physicochemical properties

Novel lactam and imide indolocarbazoles were synthesized and characterized with respect to inhibition of protein kinase C and other protein kinases. In both series potent and selective PKC inhibitors could be identified. Structure activity relationships are discussed.
