The synthesis and resolution of β-(Aminomethyl)-4-chlorobenzeneethanesulfinic acid together with the GABAB receptor affinity for the racemate and enantiomers is described. In addition the synthesis and GABAB receptor affinity of the enantiomers of the known GABAB antagonist (Saclofen) is reported for the first time
