Thiourea analogues of resiniferatoxin as ligands for the vanilloid receptor

A thiourea bridge was tested as a linker to replace the OC(O)CH2 ester group that connects resiniferonol-9,13,14-orthophenylacetate to the 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl moiety in resiniferatoxin (RTX). The resulting compounds showed lower affinity for the vanilloid receptor than did the parent RTX.
