Abstract :
ABSTRACT : This study was carried out to investigate the effect of allelopathic aqueous leaf extract of caster ( Ricinus Communis ) and neem ( Azadira chat Indica . A. Juss ) on seed germination and seedling growth of lentil in Dar Sabz laboratory of medical plant of Gachsaran in 2011. This expriment was conducted in factorial method by using random design with three replicahons. In this investigation; the type of extract in three levels ; that is , caster extract, neem extract , and distillated water ( control ) us the first factor comprised with concentraction of extract in three levels thatis, 2.5 , 5 , 10 percent. The result showed that the effect of extract on the componants of gyermivation at 1% was significant as both extract in comparsion with control decreased all of the componants of germination. Inhibitory effect of leaf extract of caster on seed germination of lentil was more than neem extract. In the all treatments by increasing the concentration decreased germination percentage of lentil at concentration of 10% in comparsion with control aqueous extract of caster and neem were 98.33% and 96.66%. therefor according to result of this study and similar researches on the characteristics of allelopathy of caster and neem leaf extract , maybe optimum concentration of caster and neem leaf extract can be used as bioherbicides.
