Abstract :
Squalene synthase catalyzes the committed step of cholesterol biosynthesis. We report here the synthesis and in vivo activity of a series of squalene synthase inhibitors that contain isosteric replacements for the farnesyl chain of the known inhibitor benzyl farnesyl amine.
