Abstract :
The synthesis of several α-substituted estratropones is described. The compounds were evaluated for the inhibition of tubulin polymerization using purified bovine brain tubulin. Several of the compounds are equipotent to colchicine for their ability to inhibit the polymerization of tubulin.
