  • Abstract
The experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of gibberellic acid (GA3) on seed tuber production of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.). The experiment was laid done with factorial design (3×3) containing Agria, Marfona and Draga cultivars and application of three concentrations of gibberellic acid (GA3) (0, 5 and 10 mg/lit) based on Completely Randomized Block Design (RCBD). Experimentation results showed that maximum final tuber yield (3.64 kg/m2) was gained from Marfona cultivar, which were statistically differed from tow other cultivars. Also, Marfona statistically produced maximum final tuber yield interaction with application of 10 mg/lit GA3 (3.68 kg/m2) (p?0.05). Maximum total weight of big tubers (1.11 kg/m2), number of big tubers (8.25), and total weight of seed tubers (ranking from 35-55 mm) (1.95 kg /m2) was produced by Marfona cultivar, which significantly differed from tow other cultivars. The production of seed tubers increased in all three cultivars by using gibberellic acid hormone at concentration of 5 and 10 mg/lit respectively. Also, higher total weight of seed tubers produced from application of 5 and 10 mg/lit GA3 (2.23 kg/m2 and 2.16 kg/m2 respectively), which statistically had difference from application of 0 mg/lit GA3 (p?0.05).
