Abstract :
The purpose of this is to investigate the relationship between creativity, social adaptability and academic performance among middle school students of Tehran. The statistical population is third grade middle school students and its volume is 340 students. The data was collected using California test of Personality questionnaire and Abedi’s creativity questionnaire. First semester’s overall average scores of students were used for academic performance. The data analysis showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between creativity with its dimensions and academic performance. In addition results indicated that, there is a positive and significant relationship between social adaptability and academic performance. Among dimensions of social adaptability, social context, social skills, family relationships, school relationships, and social relationship have positive and significant relationship with academic performance. However, there was a negative and significant relationship between anti-social desires and academic performance. In terms of academic performance, there was no significant difference between male and female students. Among dimension of social adaptability, there was no significant difference in anti-social desires. For creativity and the flexibility dimension there was a significant difference in favor of girls and there was no significant difference in dimensions of fluency, elaboration, and inventiveness.
