Abstract :
Benzylidene rhodanines are novel inhibitors of UDP N-acetylmuramate/ -alanine ligase. They showed selective whole-cell activity against the Gram-positive MRSA but not against the Gram-negative Escherichia coli. Their cytotoxic effect on mammalian CHO cells was also evaluated.
