The Impact of Creating Hashtgerd New Town (Alborz Province – Iran) on Attracting the Overpopulation in Tehran

This research aims to investigate the impact of creating the Hashtgerd New Town (35° 34? 48? N, 50° 26? 24? E) on attracting the overpopulation in Tehran. Therefore a questionnaire with one of its questions enquiring the previous residence of families living in Hashtgerd was designed and collected from a sample with a size of 418 via information interview. The results of this research indicated that although the predetermined schedule for Hashtgerd is still in process, this city has been scarcely influential on attracting the overflow of Tehran’s population and that only 28 percent of its residents are the overpopulation of Tehran.
