Abstract :
In this report we describe a new family of N-thiolated β-lactams that have antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The compounds show unprecedented structure–activity features and an unusual mode of action for a β-lactam antibiotic.
