Abstract :
ABSTRACT: To study the effect of type and rate of nitrogen containing composts on controlling the patch flower in presence of host plant, tomato a factorial experiment was performed in complete randomized block design (RCBD) with 4 replications in Saveh Azad University in 2011. First factor was the kind of compost and second factor was nitrogen concentration. Results indicated that the effect of nitrogenous compost kind on the dry weight of stalk, dry weight of fruit and dry weight of patch flower is significant. Interaction of fertilizer type × fertilizer concentration has also showed significant effect but only on the dry weight of the fruit. Results of this study further indicated that effect of type and amount of nitrogen containing composts significantly (P < 0.01) influence the growth and development of tomato and patch flower. Urea had the greatest effect on the growth and on interaction of the kind of nitrogen containing composts and the nitrogen amount and decreased the germination of patch flower. Also, highest performance of tomato fruit was achieved in 5 ppm concentration of urea. While the lowest germination of patch flower was also achieved in 5 ppm concentration of ammonium phosphate and ammonium nitrate.
