Moment Aberrations of Magnetoelectrostatic Plasma Lenses

The moment and geometric aberrations of magnetoelectrostatic plasma lenses are studied by computer modeling. Conditions are determined such that these aberrations can be made substantially lower, in which case the cross-sectional area of a focused beam can be reduced by a factor of 10^5 and the ion current density at the focus of a lens can amount to 10^(3)A/cm^(2).
