Abstract :
We investigated correlation between mitral valve morphology and first heart sound (S1) and opening snap (OS) amplitude. The analysis revealed negative correlation between the OS amplitude and the area of calcification and the mitral orifice area. We also found negative correlation between the S1 intensity and the area of calcification.
