Residual smallness relativized to congruence types, I

This paper contains a characterization of finite algebras which generate a variety having a cardinal bound on its subdirectly irreducible algebras with non-Abelian monolith. The result shows that the property to not have such a bound is a recursively enumerable property of finite algebras of finite type.
