Cultural and linguistic competency assessment

The U.S. minority population is rising remarkably. As the population grows and becomes more diverse, the demand for health care services among these groups becomes significant. Health care providers are challenged to understand and address the linguistic and cultural needs of a diverse clientele. When communication barriers prevent health care professionals from obtaining an accurate medical history or understanding their patients symptoms, it is unlikely that proper medical care can be administered.
