Abstract :
Two years ago, our organization was struggling with an unbudgeted increase in personnel expenses caused by an increase in the use of temporary agency personnel. As was the case with most hospitals across the country, the national nursing shortage was affecting our ability to recruit nurses to our organization. This article describes the strategy we used to successfully reduce this expense.
