Involutary expressions for elements in GLn(Z) and SLn(Z) Original Research Article

We shall give upper bounds for the sets of minimal numbers of involutary factors of elements in the general linear group GLn(Z) and the special linear group SLn(Z) over the ring of rational integers Z = {0, ±1, ±2, …} for n>2, respectively.
