The methods of Vorobyev and Lanczos Original Research Article

This paper deals with the method of moments of Vorobyev, which is a particular case of Galerkinʹs method. This method is generalized in different ways, and some of its properties are studied in detail. As an application, it is showed that the Lanczos method for solving systems of linear equations can be derived from it and that some generalizations could be obtained.
