Group partition and systems of orthogonal idempotents Original Research Article

Orthogonal systems of idempotents are applicable to Physics, Chemistry and other areas of Mathematics. Given a finite group G, and a set partition {[θ1], [θ2], …, [θk]} of G, we present a method that is sometimes successful in constructing a system of orthogonal idempotents that are constant on {[θ1], [θ2], …, [θk]}. The functions are an extension of the irreducible character of finite group.
