Abstract :
Given the emphasis on being environmentally correct and aware of the effects our
actions have on our surroundings, it’s not surprising to see how green technology
has pervaded every aspect of life today. Going-green inventions in computer
technology are getting widespread attention, in order to put in place sustainable
energy systems in a computer-driven economy. Energy efficiency is regarded as the
most promising solution to CO2 reduction to mitigate the effects of global warming.
Green Computing is the study and practice of using computing resources efficiently.
Typically, green computing systems or products take into account the so-called triple
bottom line of people, planet, and profit. Energy efficiency seems to be growing by 2
percent in a year. The advent of new technology that makes optimum use of already
available energy as resulted in more efficient lamps, engines. Heat exchangers and
insulation in homes and public spaces. Lately officers have also become conscious of
the device, footprints they leave. This explains the quotation exercised with the
automated equipment one purchase and install. This differs somewhat from
traditional or standard business practices that focus mainly on the economic
viability of a computing solution. These focuses are similar to those of green
chemistry; reduction of the use of hazardous materials such as lead at the
manufacturing and recycling stages, maximized energy efficiency during the
productʹs lifetime, and recyclability or biodegradability of both a defunct product
and of any factory waste. The present paper is an attempt to comprehend the
awareness of green computing among bank employees. This would not only reduce
environmental impact it would also help them cut their expenditure and save on their
budgets.
