Recurrence of cerebrovascular thromboembolic event in a woman with accessory mitral valve during puerperium period

Accessory mitral valve tissue is an extremely rare congenital cardiac anomaly. Most of the cases reported in the literature were associated with left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. In this report, a second cerebrovascular event is presented in the same patient two years after an operation in which septal myectomy was performed but accessory mitral valve tissue was not excised.
