A Critical Study of Selected Political Elitesʹʹ Discourse in English

مطالعه حاضرسعي دارد چگونگي كاربرد زبان توسط نخبگان سياسي در تكوين قدرت را بررسي كند. مقاله با مرور اجمالي بر تحليل نقادانه گفتمان آغاز مي شود و سپس با معرفي مجموعه اي شامل هشت نخبه سياسي بنام هاي: مالكوم ايكس - جوزف استالين - نوام چامسكي - ولاديمر لنين - مارتين لوتر كينگ - وينستون چرچيل - ج. اف. كندي و آدولف هيتلرادامه يافته و سپس سخنرانيها ي نخبگان سياسي ياد شده با در نظر گرفتن صنايع بديعي به كار گرفته شده مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار مي گيرند. سپس داده ها از ديدگاه تحليل نقادانه گفتمان با استفاده از تيوري سه بعدي مطالعه گفتمان (توصيف - توضيح - تفسير)- تيوري پيشنهادي نورمن فركلاف ( 1989)- و تيوري تحليل نقادانه بافت - پيشنهادي ون دايك( 2004)- مورد كاوش قرار مي گيرند. در اين تحقيق صتايع بديعي به شش دسته مهم: قياس ، گرامر، معنا ، تكرار ، جمله/عبارت معترضه و (فن) بلاغت تقسيم شده اند. نتايج تحليل آشكار كرد كه عليرغم تفاوتها در نوع صنايع بديعي استفاده شده توسط نخبگان سياسي انتخاب شده ، الگوي جالب و چشمگيري در گفتمان تمامي افراد انتخاب شده مشترك است و آن عبارت است از استفاده از صنايع گرامر - تكرار و (فن) بلاغت. اميد است كه اين تحقيق دستاوردهاي آموزشي ارزشمندي را براي آموزش زبان خارجي در كشور عزيزمان به ارمغان آورد.

This study explored how political elites can contribute to power enactment through using language. It started with a theoretical overview of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), and then presented a corpus consisting of speeches of eight political elites, namely, Malcolm X, Noam Chomsky, Martin Luther King, Josef Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, Winston Churchill, J.F. Kennedy and Adolph Hitler. This study analyzed speeches in terms of figures ofʹ speech, and interpreted them from the point of view of CDA using the framework introduced by Fairclough (1989) as a three-dimensional approach to the study of discourse (Description, Interpretation, Explanation) and van Dijk (2004) as the theory of critical context analysis.. Speech figures are classified in this study into six main categories as Comparison, Grammar, Meaning, Parenthesis, Repetition and Rhetoric. The result of analyses reveals that while there are differences in the type and degree of speech figures employed by our selected individual political elites, there is one striking pattern which is common among all speeches: the frequent use of figures of Grammar, Repetition and Rhetoric
