Abstract :
A novel organic–inorganic hybrid arsenic vanadate [Cu(2,20-bpy)](VO2)(AsO4) 1 (2,20-bpy ¼ 2,20-bipyridine) has been hydrothermally
synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, XPS spectra, TG analysis, IR spectrum and the single-crystal X-ray
diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P 1; a ¼ 5.6848(11) A°
, b ¼ 10.275(2) A°
, c ¼ 11.807(2) A°
,
a ¼ 73.70(3)8, b ¼ 80.48(3)8, g ¼ 86.09(3)8, V ¼ 652.6(2) A ° 3, Z ¼ 2, l(Mo Ka) ¼ 0.71073 A ° , (RðFÞ ¼ 0.0337 for 2932 reflections).
The title compound contains two arsenic vanadate chains linked through [Cu(2,20-bpy)]2þ complexes. Compound 1 represents the first
example of one-dimensional inorganic arsenic vanadate backbone grafted with the transition metal complex.
