Abstract :
An interesting metal–organic coordination polymer {[Zn3(C2O4)3(4,40-bipy)4]}n 1 has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized
by elemental analyses, IR spectrum, TG analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system,
space group P2ð1Þ=c; a ¼ 16:264ð3Þ A; b ¼ 15:603ð3Þ A; c ¼ 16:343ð3Þ A; b ¼ 94:13ð3Þ8; V ¼ 4136:5ð14Þ A3; Z ¼ 4; R1 ¼ 0:0554; wR2 ¼
0:1217: Compound 1 exhibits a 2D network, which consists of infinite zinc (II) oxalate chains connected to each other by a half of 4,40-bipy
acting as bridging ligands, while the other half of 4,40-bipy just does as terminal ones.
