Abstract :
A new organic–inorganic hybrid titanium vanadate [Ti(2,20-bpy)V2O7] 1 (2,20-bpyy2,20-bipyridine) was synthesized by the hydrothermal
reaction of NH4VO3, TiCl4, 2,20-bpy and water. It was determined by elemental analyses, XPS spectra, TG analysis, IR spectrum and the
single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group P2=c; a ¼ 9:6083ð19Þ A ° , b ¼ 9:5196ð19Þ A ° ,
c ¼ 14:927ð3Þ A ° , b ¼ 99:58ð3Þ8; V ¼ 1346:3ð5Þ A ° 3, Z ¼ 4; lðMo KaÞ ¼ 0:71073 A ° , (RðFÞ ¼ 0:0769 for 2632 observed reflections). The
title compound contains an unusual two-dimensional titanium vanadate layered network decorated with the 2,20-bpy ligands.
