Abstract :
A new organic–inorganic hybrid vanadate with the formula [Zn(phen)(H2O)V2O6] (1) has been synthesized under hydrothermal
conditions. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P-1 with a ¼ 7:883ð3Þ A°
, b ¼ 9:389ð3Þ A°
, c ¼ 10:9212ð13Þ A°
, a ¼ 89:26ð2Þ8;
b ¼ 69:76ð2Þ8; g ¼ 76:40ð3Þ8; V ¼ 735:1ð4Þ A ° 3 and Z ¼ 2: Single-crystal X-ray crystallography shows that 1 exhibits ribbon-like structure
covalently constructed from cyclic tetramer [V4O12]4- subunits and [Zn(phen)(H2O)]2þ fragments. Other characterizations by elemental
analysis, IR and thermal analysis are also described in this paper.
